The Baroque Society invites you to a glittering afternoon in the magical Thessalian forests, (or rather the Thessalian seashore) performing Handel’s iconic early work Apollo & Daphne. Greek mythology, metamorphoses, and Handel’s refreshing music!
Apollo and Daphne is based on the Greek myth of the sun god Apollo, who is drawn to the nymph Daphne. His feelings are unanswered, leading to her fateful transformation - or metamorphosis, if you will - into a… laurel tree.
In the role of the sun god Apollo, we welcome Simon Duus from the Royal Danish Theatre, while Signe Sneh Durholm takes on the role of the free-spirited nymph Daphne.
The concert takes place by the water at Ofelia Plads, no ticket needed.
